En el año 1978 inicia esta empresa don Evaldo Ortiz Silva junto a su esposa Mirella Sobarzo Rodriguez. Diez años después, se constituye en una empresa familiar con la participación activa de sus cuatro hijos: Maria, Luís, Marcelo y Carmen, adoptando el nombre de 'Buses Cordillera Sur' y comenzando a cumplir con recorridos regulares entre Futrono, Llifén, Lago Maihue, Paillaco y Valdivia. En el año 1989, realiza su primer viaje especial de gira de estudios, dentro de chile. En el año 1991 realiza su primer viaje internacional a San Carlos de Bariloche, republica Argentina, siendo esta una empresa pionera en prestar sus servicios a partir de entonces a congresos, giras de estudio, Asociaciones de Agricultores, Tercera Edad, Scouts, Universidades y diversas Instituciones, viajando a lo largo de todo el País desde Arica a Punta Arenas, además de Perú y Argentina. A partir del año 1997, se inician los recorridos de Futrono a Santiago, entre los meses de diciembre a marzo, por ser temporada alta de turismo en esta zona. Esta empresa se ha mantenido y crecido debido a su alto espíritu de superación y con el anhelo de continuar traspasando fronteras, invirtiendo tanto en recursos materiales como recursos humanos, siendo este último uno de sus principales capitales, contando con personal especializado e idóneo.
