Le Séminaire de Sherbrooke a comme finalité l’éducation, entendue comme un processus visant à assurer la croissance de la personne. La réalisation de cette finalité suppose que tous souscrivent à son projet global, conçu comme une réponse aux besoins, aux aptitudes et aux aspirations de l’élève, et qui tend au développement équilibré de toutes les composantes de sa personnalité : physique, intellectuelle, affective, éthique et sociale.

ORIENTATIONS ET BUTS DU SÉMINAIRE DE SHERBROOKE
Fondé en 1875 par Mgr Antoine Racine, premier évêque de Sherbrooke, le Séminaire de Sherbrooke est un établissement scolaire constitué en corporation par le chapitre 189 des statuts du Québec (1959, S.Q.).
Le Séminaire a été déclaré d’intérêt public (D.I.P.) par le ministère de l’Éducation du Québec en août 1969 pour l’ordre collégial; en octobre 1969 pour l’ordre secondaire. Le Séminaire de Sherbrooke a comme finalité l’éducation, entendue comme un processus visant à assurer la croissance de la personne.
