Where normal steel can bare the extream heat for 5 minutes only, Vijay Systems structural steel fire coating makes it able to bare the heat for 2 hours. The fire-rated sealant is being used to seal the joints and through-penetrations to prevent the fire from spreading. Though it is a water-based solution, it is still water resistant. I asked my builder to use this solution to cover all the holes when my building was under construction. I highly recommend intumescent sealants specially from Vijay Systems, if you are looking for some fire resistant solutions.
