He graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 2011 and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. He served a chief resident there from 2013-2014. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Miami, where he also served as chief fellow from 2015-2017.
