The British are medium-sized cats, with a strong squat body and massive short legs. They have a massive rounded head, and the muzzle is slightly flattened (but not flattened, like the Persians). The calling card of the British is their fluffy thick cheeks, as well as skin folds on the abdomen and on a short thick neck. The eyes are round, expressive, most often amber yellow, but blue or emerald colors can be found. The medium-long thick tail is slightly rounded at the end.
