Sometimes the decision is based on family tradition and or religious beliefs. People are becoming more mindful of the environment so often this is a consideration in their final resting place. Cemeteries are local government owned and are controlled by local bylaws. Those who decide for cremation still have the option of the burial of the ashes.CasketsThese days caskets are very much individualised, based on the person's personality and philosophy in life. They range in materials of construction and design, colour, and shape. From a simple cremation liner to a solid rimu casket or couch.Cremation UrnsThese are receptacles for the ashes after cremation. Again they come in a range of designs and can be similar to the casket at the time of the funeral. You may personalise further by purchasing any container that would hold the ashes securely. Please feel free to check with the funeral director for suitability.Flower ArrangementsFlowers are very much personalised and can be arranged by a florist, or family. They can be simple in construction (single rose) to the more traditional casket spray. Personal items can be incorporated in the design.
