At Pejo Alpacas we are proud to offer a new generation of black alpacas for both New Zealand, and around the world.
This excellence in black genetics has come from the hand selection of alpacas in Peru and Australia which have then been bred on with careful and thorough assessment each season. Our lines are selected for their reliability in what they produce, as well as their individual qualities. We believe very strongly in the importance of the females we breed from, alongside the males selected for stud work. And after more than a decade of breeding black huacayas, the results are clear in both show results and fleece production.
We have created a foundation black herd that offers consistently fine, lustrous, dense black fleeces which are reflected in each generation. By selective breeding between ancient and modern lines, we are creating a new depth of genetics in the black herd in New Zealand and developing that most exquisite of fleeces; black alpaca.
