SAMYANG GENEX CORPORATION is a Korea-based company mainly engaged in the provision of food ingredients. The Company produces starch, including native starch, such as corn starch and waxy corn starch, as well as modified starch for food and industrial uses; corn sweeteners, including dextrose, corn syrups, high-fructose corn syrups and dextrin; polyols, such as sorbitol, maltitol and hydrogenated starch hydrolysate; corn meal products, including hominy grits, corn grits, corn flour products and others, and by-products. Through its subsidiary, it also engages in the operation of family restaurants. In addition, it was engaged in the medicine business, which provided biodegradable plastics and oligosaccharides, as well as biotech products and investment business. On April 1, 2012, the Company spun-off its medicine business into a newly established wholly owned subsidiary. On March 1, 2013, the Company divested its investment business division to Samyang Holding Corp.
