Leon Shao, M.D., attended Cornell University as an undergraduate and received two Bachelor of Science degrees in nutrition and biology. He went on to earn his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and then completed an internal medicine residency at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Shao returned to Thomas Jefferson University to complete two fellowships, one in cardiovascular medicine and another in interventional cardiology. He has worked as a contract attending at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia since 2011.
