I discovered that I wanted to become a doctor at 9 years old when my mom experienced a life-threatening illness. The amount of gratitude I felt toward the people that took such outstanding care of her was overwhelming, and I knew I wanted to provide that same support to others. When it comes to the patient/provider relationship, its important to get to know one another and build a foundation of trust over time-this is one of the most rewarding parts of primary care! I am also a strong proponent of considering the many things that contribute to a persons overall health and well being, including but not limited to the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of their life. Being in pediatrics, I love getting to know families over time, and I am specifically interested in newborn care and child development. Outside of work, I love the mountains and go hiking as often as I can! I also love board/card games with friends, camping, road trips and going to church. Even though I dont get to go as much anymore, I grew up in Orlando and am a huge Disney World fan!
