Lawrence’s Fish & Shrimp has been Chicago’s favorite place for fried seafood for 75 years. Open 24 hours a day, it’s also one of Chicago’s favorite spots for late night eats. Some recipes from the original menu are still proudly served to this day – Shrimp, Perch, Frog Legs, Chicken and, of course, its original hot sauce. It now has four locations throughout greater Chicagoland. The restaurant is often recognized as a must-visit for great food and friendly service.
Lawrence’s hasn’t sourced anything from Lake Michigan since the 60s, but it still maintains a dock behind its restaurant on the Chicago River that is open to boaters and kayakers. Guests can also rent a pontoon boat in the summer!
