Centerville Clinics is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing total health care for the entire community. Serving Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties, Centerville Clinics offers comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services to patients across southwestern Pennsylvania, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Our story began in the early 1950s, when Joseph A. Yablonski, an International Board Member of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA), recognized a significant barrier facing coal miners in southwestern Pennsylvania. Although miners were eligible for medical and hospital benefits through the UMWA, many couldn’t access those benefits due to a lack of local physicians. Yablonski envisioned a solution: bring more doctors (especially specialists) to rural mining communities.
