Marissa B. McCay, MD, is a Sports Medicine physician specializing in the non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions and sports-related concussion in children and adults. Dr. McCay completed her Sports Medicine fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital, and joined Columbia Orthopedics thereafter.
Dr. McCay finds fulfillment in treating athletes of all ages and all abilities. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Nemours Children’s Hospital/Thomas Jefferson University. She then was a Pediatric Hospitalist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and has also been a General Pediatrician prior to her Sports Medicine fellowship. Additionally, she completed a fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital and has experience in treating athletes involved in adaptive sports. Dr. McCay enjoys sideline management and has served as the Team Doctor for two Massachusetts high school football teams, UMass Boston Women’s Ice Hockey, and UMass Boston Women’s Lacrosse. She also has covered the Boston Ballet both in the training room and as the covering physician for major performances.
Having grown up playing soccer, Dr. McCay is an avid sports fan and especially loves attending NWSL, WNBA, and NY Yankees games in her free time with her family. She also has a passion for running and has recently discovered a love for tennis. Dr. McCay believes in the multitude of benefits of exercise and strives to help patients to continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.
