After completing my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, I started my career as an entry level engineer. I've always been willing to take on new challenges and, as my career progressed, I am proud to have been part of some great organizations where I was afforded opportunities to serve in a broad range of interesting engineering roles. I jumped at the chance for promotion into my first leadership role and, as I moved up, was blessed to with progressive levels of responsibility as a leader of both engineering and operational organizations. After more than 35 years, I have discovered my core passion is solving practical problems. I get immersed, consumed, and acutely focused on solving a practical problem. In The Wrath of Khan, Spock said Admiral Kirk's "first best destiny" was "commanding a starship" and "anything else is a waste of material." Similarly, I have discovered my first, best destiny is the role of an engineer. There is and forever will be a high demand for problem-solvers with the grit, tenacity, determination, talent, and passion to rollup their sleeves, dive into the difficult challenges, and never give up until the job is done.
