To help himself with Hashimoto's, psoriasis, and irritable bowel syndrome, Dr. Shook began researching complementary approaches to the treatments used in the conventional medical model in 2005. What he discovered was that he had autoimmune diseases that medicine couldn't cure or significantly improve, so he set out to learn why he was having these problems and what could be done to improve them.
Dr. Shook began his research by scouring the internet and eventually started training through The Institute for Functional Medicine.He spent thousands of hours in continuing education seminars studying immunology, epigenetics, thyroid physiology, and functional endocrinology.Dr. Shook's goal is to help people achieve the most optimal expression of health through the development of a unique, bioindividualized intervention.
