At Dimension’s Alternate Learning Center, we understand that substance abuse is a huge issue for some. You just can’t seem to rid yourself of the addiction but you never seem to avoid it much either. It’s a vicious cycle that you’ve become trapped in. We offer therapy for substance abuse to anyone wanting a little help to be totally clean. This vicious cycle could possibly lead to depression and/or hopelessness.

If you identified with either of these questions, a psychotherapist might be the best option. Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a psychiatrist, psychologist or other mental health provider. Some feel more comfortable opening up with someone in a one-on-one setting, while others prefer opening up in a group. All people could benefit from therapy at any age, so starting with therapy as a young child would likely be very helpful throughout life. Child psychotherapy is the creation of a therapeutic relationship which is almost solely focused on the emotional and social well-being of the child.
Adult therapy is not very different from child therapy and the two share basic principles in each. Therapy for adults helps them explore and improve their emotional, behavioral, and relationship functioning. By improving the ways in which you handle your feelings and interact with others, your professional life and personal life will improve as well.
