Bedrock Gardens, located on a 37-acre abandoned dairy farm, is a destination garden distinguished by its horticulture, garden design, and sculpture. The garden is designed as a journey along a three-quarter mile path through distinct garden ‘rooms’ punctuated by pools, fountains, seating areas, pergolas, long vistas, and intimate spaces such as the Tea House with its Japanese-themed garden. Unusual plants occur throughout, collected and nurtured by the owners over the past 25 years. Welded steel sculptures on the ground and in the trees are carefully sited to heighten a sense of ‘place’ on the journey. Bedrock Gardens is supported and made available to the public through the Friends of Bedrock Gardens, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Friends are working to preserve the property as a horticultural sanctuary in rapidly developing southern New Hampshire.
