My interest in medicine developed over time. My original plan was to study engineering in college, but I quickly realized I enjoyed learning biology, chemistry and human anatomy. I spent some time shadowing a family medicine and vascular surgeon in my free time and volunteered at a free clinic which further solidified my interest. Upon graduating from college, I worked as a med tech for a year administering medications and insulin shots and later that year was accepted to Penn State for medical school. I believe that the patient’s care and interest should always come first. My goal is to advise and to provide as much information about their diagnosis and treatment options as possible in a way that is easy to understand. My hope is that this facilitates the shared decision making process so we can arrive at a treatment plan that works best for the patient. When I am not at work, I enjoy watching various sports, running and learning new things online.
