R. Alan Goins, MD, is originally from the Carolinas, but grew up in Orlando, Florida. Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Goins taught high school science for two years and even piloted a submarine at Walt Disney World. After serving in the Air Force for seven years in San Antonio, Dr. Goins and his family moved to Charlotte in 2002. He has been with Novant Health Township Pediatrics since that time, serving as the lead physician since 2010. He enjoys caring for children of all ages and working with families from diverse backgrounds. He has a special interest in asthma care. In his free time, Dr. Goins enjoys landscaping, hiking and traveling, but most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and two daughters.
