Sameer Syed, MD, MPH, is double board-certified in pain management and anesthesiology. He specializes in treating back and shoulder pain, head and neck pain, knee pain, neuropathy, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and much more at Pain Treatment Institute in Plano and Sherman, Texas.
Dr. Syed earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and completed a medical degree and a master's degree in public health at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to finish his residency in anesthesiology at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans and a fellowship in interventional pain management at Solar Health System.
Using a multimodal approach to treat pain, Dr. Syed uses fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided injections, physical therapy, medication management, psychological counseling, and neuraxial manipulations.
Dr. Syed recommends the least amount of opiate addictive medications possible because he cares for patients’ well-being. He gives patients the time and attention they deserve. His goal is to help them enjoy the favorite activities they once loved.
Dr. Syed maintains his advanced credentials to stay up to date with the latest advances in pain management. He’s board certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Management. Dr. Syed is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pain Management, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and many others.
He’s fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and English and can converse in Spanish and Arabic. Dr. Syed and his experienced pain management team at the Pain Treatment Institute are excited to welcome patients to the practice.
