Privately owned and operated by Paul Kempton, MPT, ATC—a four generation Arizona native—Kempton Physical Therapy and Aquatic Center provides people of all ages and abilities the respect, integrity, and physical therapy care they deserve. We have designed all of our programs to maximize function and promote prevention and performance through rehabilitation in a friendly and open environment. We strongly believe in accountability, communication, education, and teamwork—and it shows throughout every facet of our practice.
Mr. Kempton went into private practice in 1996, with the goal of providing personalized one-on-one patient care and developing his own leadership skills to better guide and direct clients through the healing process. It is his treatment philosophy that has contributed to his success as a physical therapist and business owner. Mr. Kempton has specialized training in sacroiliac dysfunction, manual therapy, aquatic therapy, vestibular and balance training, and sports medicine.
During aquatic therapy, the buoyancy of the water actually supports the weight of patient, thus decreasing the amount of weight and joint stress the patient has to bear. Additionally, the viscosity of water acts as resistance, which is great for muscle strengthening exercise. The warm water also relaxes muscles and vasodilating vessels, which increases blood flow to injured areas and promotes healing. Aquatic therapy is especially ideal for patients with arthritis, fractured bones, fibromyalgia, muscle spasms, back pain, and muscle injuries.
We encourage all of our patients who have completed a physical therapy program to begin a wellness program in order to maintain the healthy results they have achieved through therapy. Our wellness programs are designed to improve muscle strength and toning, weight loss, balance and agility, cardiovascular health, and sport performance.
