About Dennis E. Slater, MD Dr. Dennis Slater received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York University, Veterans Administration, and Bellevue Hospital, and his fellowship in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Clinical Immunology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He also was a Research Fellow in Molecular Biology at the Sloan Kettering Institute in 1984 and 1985. Dr. Slater opened his practice in Medical Oncology and Hematology in December 1985 in Norwich and joined the medical staff at the William W. Backus Hospital that same year.
