In 1964 after learning the tire and automotive business from his dad and working for another tire dealer for several years, Fred Ash started Freddies Tire Service in the backyard of the family home located at 11th and Blackwelder. Fred's son, Ron, was 10 years old at the time and worked alongside his dad after school and on weekends learning the family business from the ground up. Quickly outgrowing the home garage Freddies moved to 17th and Agnew, then on to 21st and Agnew, where with the good Lord's help and much hard work the business flourished and eventually grew to encompass a city block - becoming one of Oklahoma's largest, independent tire dealers. In 1992, Fred retired and Freddies moved to I-40 Agnew to be closer to the highway for our customer's convenience.
