Dr. Mekonnen is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford Health Care. She is also a clinical assistant professor of medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology.Dr. Mekonnen diagnoses and treats a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, corneal and external eye diseases. She creates an individual, comprehensive care plan for each of her patients.Dr. Mekonnen’s clinical research interests include exploring the most effective medical and surgical therapies for patients with corneal and external eye diseases.
