Rev. Dr. Ricky Huggins has experience with many behavioral health issues including trauma, family of origin, faith, cultural and substance use disorder issues. Early life experience includes blue collar labor and middle management work during undergraduate and graduate studies. After earning two of his three graduate degrees Ricky spent about twenty years serving as pastor and counselor as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church from the early 1990’s until his 2011 transition into university teaching, therapy and private practice counseling. Your Best Journey was founded as a 501c3 organization at that time, aimed at helping the underserved move from brokenness toward restoration. Change is. And now is.
