I chose rheumatology for its focus on longitudinal patient-doctor relationships and the opportunity to positively impact patientsTM quality of life. I believe strongly in educating and encouraging patients to play an active role in their care, as I find this empowers them to take charge of their chronic diseases and their lives.Dr. Holly Smith graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She completed an Internal Medicine residency program at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Dr. Smith is a board-certified and fellowship trained Rheumatologist.
