Sherrets specialty has been the location of rural recreational properties in the Catskill Mountain region and surrounding areas. Large properties and unique homes are his greatest interest and complex projects including land development are his passion. Sherret enjoys the challenge of having a high level of responsibility using his organizational ability for resolving complex systems with permitting requirements, innovative methods and technology, and professional teamwork.
Among his experiences in Real Estate, he has consolidated 2000 acres under lease for a large wind farm development, negotiated aggregation of 500 acres of wilderness land for conversion to state Forever Wild forest, brokered several hundred acres for hotel/golf/skiing development, advised on public relations and development strategy for complex destination facility, coordinated and negotiated transfer of lands under expropriation proceedings, and acquired skills in surveying, appraisals and title research.
Sherrets related experience includes financial services and insurances, renewable energy projects and general construction. Primary authority for the installations of renewable energy systems with complex permitting requirements for agriculture, business, and residential applications. Construction and logistics advice for a $500 million energy project. Data compilation for energy resources around the Great Lakes. Development manager for the first mountain top wind farm in New England. General construction management for refurbishment and construction of deteriorated high rise buildings in Boston.
Sherrets education includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, Real Estate Broker, Financial and Insurance licenses 6 and 63, Life and Health, certified technician for several turbine manufacturers, and private pilot.
