Faro opened his first pizza shop in 1978 and by 1987 had seven more. After selling the franchise in 1990 and a short time in Sicily, the family returned to Grand Rapids. In 1996, he opened Uccello's Ristorante Pizzeria & Sports Lounge on East Beltline, which has grown to six locations known for great food, welcoming hospitality, and the ability to host large parties, from family gatherings to team celebrations. In 2016, Uccello's Hospitality Group launched Herb & Fire Pizzeria in Grandville, later adding a second at Knapp & East Beltline. Today, UHG has eight locations, guided by Faro’s philosophy: “Always strive to give your guest more than they would normally expect... and never compromise on top quality.”
