The Christmas light tradition began when people started to decorate their Christmas trees with candles, symbolizing that Christ is the light of world! While a beautiful sentiment the candles were a bit of a fire hazard, so out of convenience and safety the Christmas light was born. It was so convenient people began installing Christmas lights everywhere they could come up with, including their homes.
