Cordino’s Fine Meats & Deli is a family owned and operated butcher shop, restaurant and deli located in Barrie’s east-end. With a commitment to delivering premium quality products with old fashioned service, Mother and Son team Nancy and Michael Cortese opened the establishment in September 2012. Since that time, Cordino’s has established a great following of regular customers and continues to have new visitors every day.
The Cordino’s name is rich in the family’s history, being named in honour of Nancy’s father, Frank Cortese who passed away over 25 years ago. As well as being a great influence on his entire family, Frank was a professional boxer in the 1940′s throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. Due to the fact that the media could never get his last name right, Frank fought under the stage name, Frankie Cordino. Highlights of his boxing career include earning his way into the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame in 1974.
