We Still Believe Insurance Is About People. Usborne and Hibbert Mutual Fire Insurance Company was formed in 1876. Fire insurance was very difficult to obtain in rural communities at that time. If it was available, it was often cost prohibitive. The company was formed on the basis of neighbour helping neighbour, a concept similar to other Farm Mutuals established at that time. That concept still exists within our culture today.
