The Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, was held yesterday at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club. What a beautiful day for Golf!! Thanks to the staff at the Chamber and Bob Malcolmson who made it a great event.
Yesterday I was a volunteer at the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, held at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club. I was the spotter on the 12th hole, sponsored by Roughly Insurance Brokers, where a hole-in-one was worth $25,000. No winner but one really close that hit the flag stick but did not drop in. It was a great day. A peaceful, natural setting right in the heart of Oshawa!
To get the most from the sale of your house, you need Linda Porritt, a professional who plans out the marketing of your home and includes many professional services in her listing package. In this Whitby home, we did some minor repairs and paint touch-ups. Then our home stager came and did a phenomenal job of presenting the house. Next our professional photographer took photos of every room and feature. Finally, Linda put the marketing plan into action. Offers came in on the first day.
I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening of the latest location of the florist What a Bloom at 843 King Street West, Unit 10, in Oshawa. Mayor John Henry attended to cut the ribbon. Also in attendance was Bob Malcolmson, Executive Director of the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce.
Pictured are Cesario Ginjo (Owner) and Tina Dezsi (Location Manager).
Those who came yesterday to celebrate the official Opening of What a Bloom in Oshawa were treated to a thank you gift of a beautiful orchid! Others in attendance included network marketing professional Marlene Marco, independent insurance broker and financial planner Diane Stoddart, and counsellor/ personal coach Lia Bandola.
The Durham Region Commercial Realtors' Network had a breakfast meeting this morning (4/23) at Durham College's Bistro '67 on Champlain Avenue in Whitby.
This is part of the college's new learning facility for students in the culinary, hospitality, event management, tourism, food science, agricultural and horticultural programs. The Centre for Food houses Bistro '67, a teaching-inspired, green-certified restaurant.
In addition to explaining the way that the college's programs are engaging students in the growing, harvesting, storing, processing, packaging, and selling of delicious food, Susan Todd, Dean of the School of Science & Engineering Technology, also conducted our tour of the facilities today (4/23), including the greenhouse.
And the food at Bistro '67 was great!
Did you know that Durham College was founded in 1967? That's the background for the restaurant name.
