LAS MICRO-REDES DE ENERGÍA SOLAR
La mayoría de los 400 millones de personas en la India que viven en comunidades rurales, carecen de acceso a la red eléctrica. Esto significa, por ejemplo, que para una simple carga de un teléfono móvil deban realizar largos viajes hasta poblaciones cercanas con acceso a la electricidad. A la vez, la iluminación de sus viviendas suele ser deficiente principalmente por medio de lámparas de queroseno.
Con el objetivo de cambiar esta situación, la compañía Mera Gao Power ha ideado el desarrollo de micro-redes que alimentadas vía energía solar permiten proporcionar desde un punto de generación relativamente pequeño, luz “limpia” para las necesidades de la población de un área limitada. Frente a otras alternativas, como puede ser la energía solar de prepago o las linternas solares, el desarrollo de una micro-red permite que el coste de instalación de la misma pueda ser repartido entre los habitantes de una misma aldea.
