Mekhela chadar is traditional Assamese dress worn by women.There are two main pieces of cloth that are draped around the body.Traditional Mekhela Chadors are made from the cotton, Muga and Pat materials. The bottom portion which is drapped from the waist side downwards is called Mekhela. It is the form of cylinder that is folded into plates and then tucked it to fit around perfectly.
