About
Mental Health Service: Helplink’s qualified, Garda vetted counsellors are available for appointment seven days a week from 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and 12 to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday. Since its inception, our qualified, insured and Garda vetted Counsellors have provided over 2, 500 appointments to clients online (Skype), by phone nationally/internationally and face-to-face (Galway).
Conflict Resolution Centre (CRC): the centre was established in 2015, growing out from Helplink’s original Mediation service that was created in 2013. In the centre there is a donation based mediation service for people dealing with family/housing or community disputes; in addition we provide Ireland’s first national online mediation service. The CRC has also began piloting a free programme for the community beginning with secondary schools in January 2015. This programme provides post Junior Cycle students with the skills and techniques to manage conflict in a more productive manner; in order to help in the fight against bullying and other such conflicts.
My Way Programme, a service for the long term unemployed : The My Way Programme provides free comprehensive career coaching, psychometric testing and evidence-based occupational mental health skills-training for the long-term unemployed. This programme was first piloted in 2015 (In association with the Department of Social Protection (Galway) and Employability Galway). My Way’s pilot was positively evaluated by members of NUI Galway’s Discipline of Psychology and funded by Electric Ireland – Energy for Generations Fund and Lilly.
Cabhrú – Irish Abroad Mental Health Service: with the support of the Minister for Diaspora, the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, the GAA.
Career Coaching/Guidance Service: this innovative low cost Career Guidance/Coaching service is provided online nationwide and face-to-face in Galway.
