Bespoke Celebration of Life, Funeral, Memorial Services
A ‘Celebration of Life’ ceremony can be whatever you and your family want it to be. For most it is part of a funeral taking place in a crematorium, funeral home, graveside or another chosen location. As a Celebrant I cannot perform any sacraments, but I am happy to incorporate religious and or spiritual music, readings, reflections or prayers that have special meaning for you and your loved ones.
A memorial service to remember your loved one can be held anytime but are often undertaken at a special or notable time such as an anniversary or birthday. This service can include elements such as planting a memorial tree, interring or scattering of ashes. This type of service is particularly suitable for families who during Covid 19 restrictions did not have the opportunity to come together or those bringing the ashes of a loved one back to Ireland. These ceremonies can be conducted in traditional locations such as Cemetery but are more often held in a location that holds special meaning for family.
Smaller events to remember your loved one such as a simple scattering of ashes can be undertaken.
Advanced Planning Celebration of Life, Funeral Ceremonies
Most people have had some thoughts about whether we want to be cremated or buried, but very few take the time to consider how they would like their lives to be remembered and celebrated. As a Funeral Celebrant, I am happy to work with people to ensure they get the ceremony they want. I will assist with planning and developing the ceremony in advance and can do this with individuals or jointly with their family or next of kin.
Putting such plans in place helps us to feel a little more in control of our situation. Advance planning your ceremony will also save your family or next-of-kin the stress of trying to second-guess what you wanted. It also ensures you can put your stamp on your ceremony. All of us can benefit from putting together our thoughts and wishes about what we want in advance. It is particularly important for people who are nearing the end of their lives.
