Although we now operate internationally, with offices in Amsterdam, Budapest, Brussels, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Helsinki, London, Oslo and Stockholm, we have humble beginnings.
We were founded in Sweden in 1995 by Björn Lifvergren, who remains CEO of the company to this day. Since then, we have grown to become one of the largest subtitling companies in Europe but what makes us unique is that we haven't forgotten our roots. We still have the same values now as we did then – we want to produce high-quality work while keeping the production process streamlined and efficient.
Our focus is on you, our clients. We want to make your life as easy as we can, and that applies just as much now as it did when we first started out on our journey. We've only grown so big thanks to close and successful collaboration with our clients.

Our headquarters are still in Sweden, but the business has grown a lot since Björn started out. Between 1998 and 2008, BTI was owned by European SBS Broadcasting. Since August 2008, BTI is owned by Swedish Private Equity Fund, Valedo. Last year, we turned over €25 million and we include businesses like the BBC, Discovery Networks, ESPN, National Geographic, SBS Broadcasting, Turner, and many more.
