De Eerstelijnszorg Bocholtz-Simpelveld is méér dan een verzameling van hulpverleners in één gebouw.In de Eerstelijnszorg Bocholtz-Simpelveld hebben de huisartsen samenwerkings-overeenkomsten met een groot aantal disciplines. De patiënt staat centraal. Er worden afspraken gemaakt over hoe de zorg uitgevoerd wordt. Daarbij wordt altijd gekeken hoe de patiënt zo snel mogelijk op de juiste plaats komt en hoe hij de juiste zorg krijgt.
Deze afspraken zijn vastgelegd in protocollen of Zorgprogramma's. De zorgverleners houden zich aan die afspraken. Tevens worden ze regelmatig geëvalueerd. Deze manier van werken is het belangrijkste kenmerk van een gezondheidscentrum.
Deze manier van werken betekent ook dat er veel overlegstructuren zijn in het gezondheidscentrum. Tweemaal per maand overleggen de huisartsen van Bocholtz en Simpelveld met Thuiszorg en Maatschappelijk Werk. Eveneens tweemaal per maand overleggen de huisartsen met de disciplines van de geestelijke gezondheidszorg: maatschappelijk werk, eerstelijns psycholoog en sociaal psychiatrisch verpleegkundigen. Daarnaast zijn nog een aantal werkgroepen voor de Zorgprogramma's actief.
