IGGRiJa Sophia bestaat al sinds 1991. In eerste instantie was het een solopraktijk van James Tyndall onder de naam Psychotherapiepraktijk Maastricht. In 2004 is die uitgebreid tot een middelgrote instelling voor Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg en in 2013 is de praktijk verkocht.Op dit moment heeft James Tyndall weer een solopraktijk en wel onder de naam I GGRiJa Sophia.
Hij werkt in deze praktijk samen met zijn partner die het administratieve gedeelte onder haar hoede neemt. Dit leest u ook in de naam: Instituut voor Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg van Ria en James. Sophia staat voor wijsheid in de ruimste zin van het woord.
Wij zijn een tweedelijnsinstelling voor Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg (psychotherapie en behandeling/begeleiding) en die behandelingen worden sinds 1 januari 2008 vergoed via de basisverzekering van uw ziektekostenverzekering. Wel zal de verzekering aanspraak maken op uw eigen risico.
Omdat wij een GZ-instelling zijn, is wel steeds een verwijzing van uw huisarts, bedrijfsarts of een andere specialist vereist.
Voor het jaar 2015 hebben we geen contract met de ziektekostenverzekeraars, wat inhoudt dat we alleen mensen met een restitutiepolis behandelen kunnen. Ook mensen die hun behandeling zelf willen/kunnen betalen, kunnen bij ons terecht.
Voor 2016 hebben wij contracten aangevraagd bij VGZ en CZ.
