Op jonge leeftijd raakte ik geboeid door vioolmuziek. Ik wilde zelf graag viool gaan spelen maar dit werd eerst blokfluit, gevolgd door dwarsfluit. Op de één of andere manier was muziek voor mij een boeiend en mysterieus on-ontdekt en onbekend fenomeen. Ik was heel nieuwsgierig hoe dat allemaal in elkaar zat en hoe bijvoorbeeld een radio een heel orkest liet klinken terwijl ik zelfs nog geen idee had wat een orkest eigenlijk was. Langzamerhand ging ik ontdekken hoe een orkest in elkaar zit, hoe muziek ontstaat en wat ik me erbij voor moest stellen. Via onderbrekingen en kronkels begon en voltooide ik mijn muziek vakopleiding. Zowel dwarsfluit als zang, waarbij het laatste steeds meer op de voorgrond treedt. Muziek betekende voor mij in contact komen met andere mensen en een emotie over te brengen. Met andere woorden een manier van heel direct en persoonlijk communiceren. Het uitwisselen van gevoelens vormde een belangrijke drijfveer waarbij het technisch aspect een struikelblok kon en kan vormen. Als je dit uiteindelijk beheerst kun je je fel begeerde doel realiseren. Ook andere kunstvormen zoals schilderen, vormgeving, poëzie, literatuur hebben mijn grote belangstelling en zijn geïntegreerd geraakt in mijn artistieke loopbaan. Je zou het ook een soort kruisbestuiving kunnen noemen. Juist bij zingen komen deze verschillende aspecten bij elkaar, de tekst, muziek, sfeer, kleur en presentatie. Sommige componisten hebben zich letterlijk door een beeld of schilderij laten inspireren. Op het moment dat ik weer ervaar dat mijn zich nog steeds rijpende gevoel overkomt bij de ander en deze zich erin herkent, is mijn opzet geslaagd.Adres en telefoon van Marinus Links Zang Dwarsfluit Stem Oegstgeest
