De Protestantse Gemeente te Twello is ontstaan uit de Hervormde gemeente Twello/Teuge en de Kruispuntgemeente Twello. Op 11 oktober 2009 is het samengaan van de beide voormalige gemeenten feestelijk gevierd. Een lange verkeringstijd is overgegaan in een goed huwelijk.Onze gemeente telt ca. 1800 leden. De meeste leden van onze gemeente wonen in Twello en Teuge, maar ook van buiten deze dorpen voelen velen zich bij ons thuis.
De monumentale Dorpskerk is ons thuis. Hier houden we onze erediensten. Vlak daarbij staat gebouw Irene waar de overige activiteiten plaatsvinden.
Er zijn een drietal predikanten werkzaam.
Visie van Protestantse Gemeente te Twello
We zien onze gemeente graag als een krachtige geloofsgemeenschap waar mensen, samen met anderen en in het licht van de woorden van God, de zin van hun leven kunnen ontdekken. Wij zijn een veelkleurige en pluriforme gemeente en willen daarom een gemeente zijn waarin ruimte en respect is voor iedereen.
Onze gemeente wil vanuit haar protestantse geloofstradities staan voor de boodschap van het evangelie. Wij willen dat doen op een aansprekende, laagdrempelige en eigentijdse wijze voor alle generaties. In een open houding naar elkaar waarin de kerk midden in de samenleving wil staan met openheid naar andere geloofsgemeenschappen en maatschappelijke organisaties.
Onze gemeente wil een gemeenschap zijn waar vieringen worden gehouden, waar ruimte is voor bezinning, inspiratie en ontmoeting met God of het Goddelijke en waarbij het kerkgebouw zó is ingericht dat iedereen zich er thuis kan voelen en er sfeer en ruimte is voor verschillende belevingen van geloof en gemeenschap.
Onze gemeente kent een algemene herkenbare basisliturgie, met vaste elementen als kapstok, daar binnen is ruimte voor een pluriforme uitwerking.
Onze gemeente wil behoren tot de landelijke Protestantse Kerk in Nederland.
