Miele is een fabrikant van hoogwaardige huishoudelijke apparaten, inbouwapparaten en machines voor professionele toepassingen. Het hoofdkantoor bevindt zich in het Duitse Gütersloh (Nordrhein-Westfalen). Miele is in 1899 opgericht en een echt familiebedrijf. De oprichters waren Carl Miele en Reinhard Zinkann. De onderneming wordt inmiddels door de vierde generatie geleid. Sinds de oprichting is het motto 'immer besser' oftewel 'steeds betere producten maken'. Trouw aan deze filosofie produceert Miele producten van een bijna spreekwoordelijk hoge kwaliteit.Miele in Nederland
Al betrekkelijk snel na de oprichting van Miele in Duitsland (1899) vonden de eerste Miele-producten hun weg naar de Nederlandse consument. Het waren met name houten zuivelwerktuigen voor het platteland. Ze werden spoedig gevolgd door wasmachines met een houten kuip. De belangstelling voor Miele-producten nam snel toe. En zo ontstonden omstreeks 1912 de eerste contacten tussen Miele en Nederlandse grossiers. De eerste officiële Miele-vestiging in Nederland startte in 1939 te Den Haag onder de naam 'Miele Waschmachine Maatschappij'. Van hieruit werden met name wasmachine-onderdelen gedistribueerd. Na een korte periode vanuit Amsterdam actief te zijn geweest, vestigde Miele Nederland zich in 1953 in Rotterdam. Van daaruit werden tot en met 1978 alle service- en verkoopbevorderende activiteiten ontplooid. In 1979 vestigde Miele Nederland B.V. zich in Vianen als verkoopmaatschappij. En met succes, want Nederland is al jaren een van de grootste exportlanden van Miele! In totaal werken er nu zo'n 350 mensen bij Miele Nederland B.V. in Vianen.
