I enjoy helping young people and adults develop strategies and coping techniques in order to better manage life’s many challenges. Using a range of modalities my counselling helps people to deal with a range of issues such as, but not limited to, adults struggling with weight loss, assertiveness skills, behaviour issues, depression, grief and loss, self esteem issues, anxiety and stress management. I have a Diploma of Professional Counselling and am a Provisional Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors. My client base includes working with young people living with cancer and their families. I have personal experience of living with Fibromyalgia and also work with people who live with this condition, helping them to develop strategies and coping techniques in order to live more effectively. Working in a corporate environment for many years has given me an understanding too of how managing stress and developing a healthy life-work balance significantly improves one’s emotional and physical well-being. I am passionate about supporting each client to improve their emotional health by facilitating their personal growth and development, and deepening their self-understanding. With greater insight we are naturally empowered to implement our own unique, positive and effective life practices. By achieving a different or broader perspective we can more easily identify realistic solutions, enabling us to better achieve our full potential and reach our goals.
