Welcome to Southern KidsSouthern Kids is a brand new Early Learning Centre which opened in February 2010. Our Centre is a superb facility warm, light, spacious, highly resourced, and fun to be in. We have four separate rooms for the children, so that all can grow and develop in an age-appropriate environment. Teachers are well catered for, with a spacious staff room and a separate staff work room. All the rooms are well provided with storage areas, both inside and outside. The playground at Southern Kids is large much larger than that required by Ministry of Education regulations. This space, and the mix of challenging and stimulating equipment alongside safe and quiet areas, ensures that the many various needs of the children can be met.Southern Kids will be equipped with a wide range of resources giving our children the opportunity to excel in all areas in a fun environment where they feel loved and able to develop as individuals. We will provide opportunities for our children to be a part of our local community and parents are always welcome to join in any activity.It is our aim to provide a safe, healthy, happy and stimulating environment where all children feel valued and included and are able to develop to their full potential by learning through play.We will provide a safe, secure environment.We will promote all aspects of healthy living.We will act as good role models, emphasising respect and kindness.We will celebrate achievements in everything the children do.We will provide a wide range of resources, giving children the opportunity to excel in all areas in an environment where they feel loved and are able to develop as individuals.We will welcome all parents and whànau into the setting and work alongside them to form a good partnership.We will provide positive and meaningful experiences in an environment that is fun.We will ensure that our children are an integral part of the local community by welcoming visitors in, as well as taking the children out of the centre for excursions.If you would like to book a place for your child, please complete an enrolment form (available from the Centre or downloaded from the website, sign it in the appropriate places, and return it to the Centre.
