The Service and Food Workers Union Nga Ringa Tota (SFWU) represents over 23, 000 union members throughout New Zealand.The SFWU is the Union for care workers, cleaners and kitchen staff. We look after workers in Aged Care and Community Services, Food Processing and Manufacturing, Public and Commercial Services and Tourism and Hospitality.Our members work in hospitals, schools, aged care homes and disability care services. They are clerical and call centre workers, security guards and commercial laundry workers. They work in the hospitality and tourism industry, in hotels and casinos. They are factory workers processing seafood, fruit, vegetables, biscuits and confectionary, chickens, and wine. They are employed in commercial catering preparing airline meals. They are musicians and home care workers.The SFWU is an organising union.
