Kevin Adams, the Founder and Lead Electrician at This is Electric, started his journey into the trade in the UK, before coming to New Zealand and becoming registered here. He’s been working as an electrician since 2003, and started This is Electric in 2017. Upon starting work in New Zealand, Kevin noticed a recurring trend of Auckland houses having out-of-date switchboards. This concerned him, as it meant there was little to no protection for the end user against electrical faults. Having a family of his own, he understood personally the level of risk this meant people were under, and so decided to take on the mission of upgrading as many switchboards for his customers as he possibly could. This way both he, and his network of happy customers, could sleep soundly knowing their homes were safe.
