It is now open every day, from 8.30 am to 5pm, and a vet is in attendance daily. The Kurow branch meets all the needs of the local clients-sheep and beef, small animal, and dairy. The new consult and surgery rooms are efficiently designed and the store is well stocked with quality animal health supplies.• WAIMATE :: This practice evolved from the Waimate Farmers Veterinary Club, a very successful farmer-owned co-operative set up to provide veterinary services to the area. Providing a full range of veterinary services.• PALMERSTON :: This veterinary practice was formed to meet the growing needs of the Palmerston Community, and the rural area of East Otago. Full surgical services are offered, including routine neuters and speys, and trauma repairs. The practice boasts a “gold standard” isoflurane anaesthetic system, to ensure the ultimate in patient safety. Despite this, major surgical cases, such as complicated orthopaedic reconstructions, are still referred to the base hospital in Oamaru, with its superior surgical facilities, additional experienced staff, and patient monitoring devices.• GLENAVY :: Our Glenavy branch is designed to meet the needs of the immediate farming community, much of which is involved with intensive dairying. Local farmers obviously appreciate the service, as the practice has been well supported. The practice is staffed by vets from Oamaru or Waimate, on a daily basis.• OMARAMA :: The new, purpose built (and air-conditioned!) veterinary clinic in Omarama was opened in October 2007. The Omarama branch operates out of the clinic every day, providing a full range of animal health and surgical services.
