About

At the time of your loss of a pet, Auckland Pet Funerals provides a dignified, final resting place in a beautiful park setting located 10 minutes out of Auckland, or cremation if that is your preferred option. Clients are assured of understanding and compassion at their time of loss and Dave will 'walk you through' the process of saying goodbye to your special friend. The funeral process is very individual and we try to anticipate considerations of culture and philosophy but we do not follow any set procedure or ceremony. This is because we have found that clients invariably need to be rather private and simple about the event. Graves are marked with a simple marker-stone and an engraved name plate. Small boxes may be used for small pets but these are not encouraged as a cloth wrap is much more appropriate. Caskets and coffins are necessary for human situations but for pets this is not so, and they add enormously to the work, the grave size and the cost. Some clients offer extra financial input to add to the overall ambiance of the park, but humanistic funeral raised headstones, crosses etc. are not part of the image we offer to all of our other visitors who come to enjoy the property. THE BELOW COSTS ARE ONE OFF COSTS AND GST INCLUSIVE. NO ON GOING CHARGES. Cat $245 Small Dog $275 Medium Dog $350 Large Dog $440 Ex lge Dog $520 Collection Cost Varies. Owners of pets buried here are welcome to visit at any reasonable time and there are no ongoing charges for that. From bare land in 1979 Dave Stephens began building his 10 acre park currently comprising of 10,000 trees and shrubs, many thousands of bulbs and dozens of garden features and artifacts. There are over 2.5kms of pathways and a wide variety of garden themes and styles. In 1994 Dave and Jackie began offering their facility for the burial of pets and since that time over 800 loved companions have been laid to rest, with owners often returning with other pets as the years go by. The park is called EIREVER (which is 'reverie' spelled backwards) If you are a pet owner you are welcome to visit Eirever in advance (by appointment) to make prior arrangements to put your mind at rest rather than have any concerns at the emotionally charged time of the loss. Over the 16 years since beginning this service we have gained an in depth experience of the wide ranging examples of how people react at these times. We are proud to say that due to our empathy, relaxed procedure and comforting understanding virtually all of our clients/friends leave here smiling, happy and relaxed knowing that they have done all that they can and have been able to say farewell in a way and in a place that gives them the comfort and closure that these times require.
