About

Te Whiti Homestead is a haven of relaxation in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful destinations. Our historic country homestead is set amidst several acres of gardens with mature stands of oak, elm and magnolias. The seasonal differences of New Zealand are exemplified at Te Whiti - vibrant blooms of springtime daffodils or blazing tones of autumn. In winter, you can relax and curl up in front of cosy winter fires in the large formal sitting room. There are wonderful walks with breathtaking views in and around the grounds. Te Whiti Homestead is just a short drive from Martinborough, Greytown and Masterton - a perfect base to explore the Wairarapa. The current owners, and your hosts, Roger and Maureen Ternent purchased the property in 2002 and have restored and renovated the Homestead to its former glory. While the historic style of the Homestead has been maintained it has been enhanced with modern services and heating systems. We have two inhouse resident Scottish Terrriers, Briar and Bracken, who are non-allergenic and incredibly friendly. There are 4 suites, 2 of which have their own balconies overlooking the gardens that are in close proximity to the house.
