Desktop Imaging provide services for Digital Preservation - Historically, preservation of paper records has been the domain of microfilm, but with today’s improving technology people are looking toward a digital record as an alternative.This can be achieved in several ways :: Digitise from paper only • Digitise and microfilm together • Digitise from microfilm • Microfilm from digital imageWith these options available we can cater for every client’s needs. The Heritage Materials Imaging Facility allows for high resolution digital colour imaging of fragile, bound and mounted materials. The HMIF, which is located in the National Library of New Zealand, has been operating since mid-May 2003.
